SERA Karst Task Force Directors must be current members of the National Speleological Society, Inc. and of one of its' chapters or grottos in the Southeastern Region of the U.S. The Southeastern region includes the states of Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee.

Members of the SERA Karst Task Force (SKTF) include the current Southeastern Regional Association (SERA) Chairman, Vice-Chair and Secretary/Treasurer and six at large members nominated each year by the Southeastern Regional Association Chairman for two-year terms, with exception the SERA Secretary/Treasurer which has no SERA term limit. At the first SKTF Board Meeting following the yearly Southeastern Regional Association Winter Business Meeting the SKTF Directors will elect an SKTF Chairman, SKTF Vice-Chair, SKTF Secretary and SKTF Treasurer.
